Shocking Moonrabbit Day 2022 News

Hello everyone. Mom, dad, grandparents, Google SEO bot, and unknown person that statistically won't click "Read more" after getting here from a sticker– Thank you all so much for gathering here, once again, to celebrate my greeting card holiday in the making. I wonder if giving people Moonrabbit Day cards this year will guilt them into buying me one next year (which I can charge them for as the sole distributor of Moonrabbit Day cards)? It’s worth a shot. Getting them all done by the end of the day is going to be rough though since I waited to start writing this until it was dark out. I can already feel my suppressed Valentine’s Day Eve card making trauma resurfacing. Is that something everyone did as a little kid? Or was it only at my elementary school? I guess if you’re taking the time to read this it’s okay if you don’t get me anything next year. Just buy a shirt already so I don’t have to register Moonrabbit Industries as a non-profit.

Right! Announcement time! It’s been a long time since the last one of these I did but it’s good to see my intro paragraphs are as good as ever. As in not good. I think I said I was going to start editing these before posting them and that, uh, did not end up being true at all.

Starting with this post, the blog will now have an editor! This has really been a long time coming and I’m super excited to see the jump in quality as a result of our expanded team. I’m writing a reminder down on this Post-it to find the right intern for the job and putting it on the fridge so I won’t forget. Hopefully it doesn’t get mixed up with the shopping list like last time. I really can’t overstate how excited I am to finally employ even the lowest level of quality assurance on this website.


**&&^^%% EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT #2: !!!**<<>>>

New dang designs ! …Okay, yeah, some of these do look familiar actually now that you’re bringing it up… Which is a great segue into the bigger part of exciting announcement number two: I’m reconfiguring and trimming down all the existing Moonrabbit Industries merchandise into five-ish waves consisting of two original tees, one corporate hoodie variant, one mug variant, three completely different stickers, and a random miscellaneous item that I’ll cycle through every month.
Going off the look you’re giving me, I can tell you’re even more confused now than you were before I went into the thing about the monthly stuff. No, that is a good point, there definitely weren’t enough tee designs to sell two different ones every month for five months… which is why most of them are going to be new! The two from this month are still just variations on the same (iconic) Moonrabbit Industries logo, but keep an eye out for shirts with characters and other weirder rabbit stuff in the future. And don’t even say it– I know there’s an elephant in the room I haven’t addressed. Amidst all this celebration, there exists fear. Not of change, which is necessary to the growth of any successful business, but of the erasure of the building blocks of the Moonrabbit Industries legacy in the name of a short term, monthly profit. What’s going to happen to the generic (classic) designs we all know and love? FEAR NOT. I know nobody here needs the stress of feverishly checking, as the clock turns to midnight at the end of every month, if a good old plain logo mug, sticker or tee is available for purchase. In addition to figuring out what month it is. Even as the monthly designs get switched out, the aforementioned corporate designs will stick around. So stop freaking out, damn.
Oh, also, speaking of the Moonrabbit Industries legacy, I’m working on touching up a lot of the designs that were using older assets or ended up looking weird when I saw them in the fur//flesh. And an actual rabbit’s been hired to rewrite all the product descriptions to be a better representation of Moonrabbit street fashion culture. Like plaques at a well respected pop-up art installation. Or a diversity hire being paid ten cents a sentence to write whatever the hell she wants. Maybe more words are better for getting us on the first page of the “Moon Rabbit'' Google search results. Ideally you’ll all be focused on my graphic design talent anyway.
